Foundation of GEDA:
The company is founded by Mr Georg Dechentreiter senior. The company name GEDA is derived from him: GEorg Dechentreiter, Asbach. At that time, the company sells and repairs agricultural machines. Later it expands into the field of construction equipment.

Takeover:
His son Georg Rudolf Dechentreiter takes over GEDA and focuses on producing and selling construction winches.

Winch 400 S:
This winch earns its "good reputation" thanks to its perfect design, its solid construction and its adaptability. The almost legendary GEDA winch becomes a popular tool in the whole building sector. Due to the high demand, a new edition of this winch is even made for the region Berlin-Brandenburg.

GEDA-Lift:
The GEDA-Lift is introduced. It has been sold over 55,000 times in the meantime. At that time it is almost exclusively developed for roofers. Today it is also used in other fields, e.g. as a removal hoist or a hoist for the transport of solar elements, etc. With the GEDA-Lift we are still Europe's market leader for inclined hoists.

Building of a new administrative building and of production hall 1:
The steady expansion of GEDA requires new premises and a larger production hall. In 1985, we move into the new building in "the open countryside". This decisive step has laid the foundation for GEDA'S development.

GEDA 500:
For the first time, GEDA is able to reach into new market segments. The load capacity of 500 kg meant high static demands on the construction. However, these are successfully mastered. The GEDA 500 is used by finishing contractors as well as by scaffolders.

Acquisition of the company BMG in Gera:
In order to adapt to the steadily growing requirements of the market and to improve our service, especially for Eastern Europe, we decide to buy the company BMG in Thuringia.

GEDA 500 Z/ZP + 1500 Z/ZP:
The transport platforms are easy to handle due to their module method of building and unite two devices in one: a hoist for material and a transport platform for people and material. You will find GEDA transport platforms on building sites all around the world.

Building the new branch office North-West:
We move into the new premises in Bergkamen. Here, especially our customers in northern and western Germany and from the Benelux countries can profit from a pick-up storage plant, a service station and a display of our products.

Acquisition of the company ERA:
GEDA acquires the Austrian hoist manufacturer Ebbs & Radinger. The transport platform GEDA-ERA 1200 Z/ZP is named after that. Its concept is taken over, but the platform is technically improved and redesigned.

Takeover of BMG and new building in Gera:
Work starts in the new office and manufacturing halls in Gera. Components are produced using state-of-the-art technology like pipe laser, welding robots, etc. Mainly "Permanent Installations" are designed and produced here. Medium-term, these are to be another main pillar for GEDA.

Traction rope winch AB 650:
In order to complete the product range for height access technology, the self-developed traction rope winch is introduced on Bauma 2004. It is used for both temporary and permanent installations.

Service hoist SH:
The development of the service hoist creates another main pillar in the field of permanent hoists. Its wide range of application covers all industrial sectors including the oil industry.

GEDA Service Centre:
The new building contains a 780m² hall and and 300m² office and training area. The GEDA Service-Centre functions as the central service location. Our customers can have their machines repaired. Used machines are also sold and repaired here.

Expansion of the production plant in Gera:
GEDA invests 3.5 million EUR for a new production hall in 2007.

Multilift Range:
For the first time a completely new modular system was introduced at BAUMA 2007. To cope with national and international regulations, GEDA extended its well-known Z/ZP transport platform range. This new hoist range leaves nothing to be desired. Named as GEDA Multilift Standard and GEDA Multilift Comfort model line the new dimension of hoists for persons and material gets started.

PH Range:
GEDA now offers the complete range from 60 kg – 3.2 tons bearing loads by adding the personnel and material PH range (2 – 3.2 tons) to its product portfolio. Four standard versions have been developed up to now. All adjustable to desired specifications or conditions at construction site. Lifting height up to 400 m and three different lifting speeds and different car sizes are available. Both mast systems enable single and twin usage.

Building the new Multilift assembly hall:
The GEDA Multilift hoist range has been successfully launched and it rapidly turned up that the current production facilities are not sufficient to meet the market demands. A new assembly hall of 1400 square meter and 11.5 m ceiling height was realized at the headquarters in Asbach-Bäumenheim, especially designed for the Multilift range only.

Foundation GEDA USA LLC:
GEDA’s goal is to optimize service quality and demonstrate stronger presence on the market by founding GEDA USA LLC in Houston, Texas. It takes care of existing customers and distributors as well as project processing and is responsible for expanding the service and sales network in North America.

Foundation GEDA Rep. Office Moscow:
The representation office in Moscow is the contact person for Russia and Kazakhstan. It offers among other things, service and maintenance work as well as product trainings.
