GEDA 500 Z/ZP at the Stiftungsgebäude St. Johannes Schweinspoint

The Stiftung Behindertenwerk Sankt Johannes in Schweinspoint has for many years provided people with mental and psychological disabilities with a range of residential accommodation, some of which is protected and some more open. Currently around 370 people live and/or work there.

Since April 2012 the four-storey west wing of the building has been undergoing renovation and modernisation. After the renovation of the façade the interior will also be refurbished. The last changes to the building were made back in the 1960s and 1970s.

New room for three resident groups

Over three floors there will be a home for mainly older, but also some younger, resident groups with psychological or mental disabilities.
Residents have already moved into the ground floor and the move into the 1st floor is planned for August. In late autumn the 2nd floor should be completed as should the repairs to the top floor.

The building project has been financed by the State Government of Bavaria, the Regional District of Schwaben and the charity Aktion Mensch.

The scaffolding was installed by the company Bergmüller from Neuburg a. d. Donau. To progress the renovation work as quickly as possible the scaffolding company decided to use a 500 Z/ZP construction hoist and a construction rubbish chute from GEDA-Dechentreiter GmbH & Co.KG based in Asbach-Bäumenheim.

GEDA 500 Z/ZP and GEDA Comfort Construction Rubbish Chute – an unbeatable team

The GEDA 500 Z/ZP provides indispensable assistance both for rapid scaffold assembly and for any subsequent work. Due to minimal space requirements, the high load bearing capacity of up to 850 kg and numerous modes of use, it saves time and guarantees optimum logistics on the building. The platform and ramp of the GEDA 500 Z/ZP have been specifically designed for heavy loads. Using the practical assembly bridge the device can easily be anchored at all heights. The smooth operation of the rack and pinion lift is also guaranteed by the automatic lubrication equipment incorporated as standard.
To ensure the safe and easy loading/unloading of the platform, GEDA landing level safety gates were installed at three stop positions on the building.

However, before the construction company Ettenreich from Neuburg a. d. Donau can build the new materials required inside the building, vast quantities of building waste has of course to be transported outside. Therefore as well as the GEDA 500 Z/ZP, the GEDA Comfort Construction Rubbish Chute is also being used on the building in Schweinspoint.
The extremely low-maintenance construction rubbish chute has a 6 mm wall thickness and additional 3mm wearing ribs which give it a very long operating life in relation to other chutes. The highly impact resistant plastic guarantees top quality.
The construction rubbish chute is fitted with a double hook so that individual elements can be securely combined with each other. It goes without saying that the GEDA construction rubbish chutes maximise all the benefits of plastic making them very quiet but also light, easy to transport and fast to assemble.

Saves time and costs - even at low lifting heights

The GEDA 500 Z/ZP is designed for a maximum lifting height of 100 metres. The use of the GEDA 500 Z/ZP on the four-storey Stiftungsgebäude St. Johannes shows once again that is also worthwhile to use GEDA construction hoists for lower building heights. Used in association with the GEDA Comfort Construction Rubbish Chute, fast and clean building work is guaranteed.
