GEDA MULTILIFT P18 S WINS IAPA AWARD 2011
German manufacturer GEDA was the winner of the “Product of the Year – Mast Climbing Platforms/Hoists” at this year's International Awards for Powered Access (IAPAs) with its personnel hoist GEDA Multlift P18 S. The judges said that they chose this product because it is an innovative solution for end users.

The IAPAs are jointly organised by Access International and IPAF. Over 400 industry professionals from almost all continents including Europe, North and South America and East Asia attended the awards ceremony which took place on 29 March 2012 at the Sheraton Hotel in Rome, Italy.
The GEDA Multilift P18 S is used as an interim solution if lifts in buildings are not operational due to renovation, maintenance, installation or repair. Imagine lifts in hospitals, retirement homes, official or higher residential buildings would fail or just have to be refurbished. The lift can not be simply taken out of commission without a replacement. The GEDA Multilift P18 S is an inexpensive alternative to also give the inhabitants unobstructed access to the building and the individual storeys. It gets installed on the external façade of the building.
You can also find the GEDA Multilift P18 S on public places, like bridges as pedestrian crossing or subways, train stations, etc. as public authorities are responsible for granting access to everybody and have to take care of an adequate alternative.
Especially in the Netherlands where there has to be a lift in buildings higher than 2 storeys and a general overhaul every 15 years, is a great demand for a GEDA Multilift P18 S.
It requires little space, but has an optimum interior space (e.g. for hospital beds). The operation of the lift is very convenient, but as simple as possible; senior citizens can not be confronted with a high-tech construction. There is an emergency telephone installed. The operator of the lift designates an emergency number so that a manned rescue control-
centre can be contacted at all times by pressing a button. The electrical sliding doors open and close automatically comparable to a regular lift. The integrated electronic frequency converter ensures the smooth running of the GEDA Multilift P18 S.
The most important is the fact that the GEDA Mulitlift P18S is approved for public transport. Its use is so simple and easy that no trained personnel are needed.
Technical data of the GEDA Multilift P18 S:
It is designed for the transport of up to 12 persons. The lift can be set up to a height of 100 m, whereby the maximum payload is 1,000 kg.
The hoist's integrated level pre-selection control system with digital display is particularly simple and practical to use. Consequently, each level can be reached with the simple push of a button, just as with a home lift. The inbuilt frequency control means that there is no jerky start-up or braking, but precise positioning. This control system facilitates smooth start-up and braking due to its lower starting current and low wear and tear for brakes, motors, etc.
Of course, safety devices such as the speed-dependent GEDA overspeed safety brake and overload protection etc. are all standard equipment. The new flat, space-saving GEDA cable bin has been integrated into the base enclosure and cannot even be noticed at first glance.
The complete hoist is delivered as one piece with perfect dimensions for container shipping or truck transport. At the building site you can then start erecting the mast parts without having to assemble individual parts for the car first.
