GEDA Stars in Malmö

Bavarian construction hoists support apartment construction in Sweden

In the Swedish municipality of Lomma, a suburb of Malmö, intensive building work is underway with new apartments being built over an area of 15,000 m². Two GEDA Multilift P12 devices are supporting the construction work – and a GEDA 500 Z/ZP SL transport platform has made its first appearance in front of the Swedish public.

The ground floor of the five-storey building will be occupied by retail outlets with the other four storeys to be divided into 66 apartments of varying sizes.

Building work is currently in full swing. ALLBYGG AB, the construction company responsible for the provision of the height access technology, was looking for suitable solutions. It selected the rental company Lyft & Byggmaskiner which then equipped the construction site with construction hoists from the Bavarian manufacturer GEDA-Dechentreiter GmbH & Co.KG. The two companies have been partners for many years and Lyft & Byggmaskiner offers the complete GEDA product range of personnel and material hoists.

So just a few weeks after the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, GEDA also sent its "Stars" to Malmö.

GEDA 500 Z/ZP SL: Première in Sweden

Immediately after leaving bauma in Munich the new GEDA 500 Z/ZP SL transport platform started its journey to the far north and in the small Swedish village of Lomma, not far from Malmö, the construction hoist gave its first performance of what it can do in the daily work of a construction site.

As a construction hoist with a load capacity of up to 850 kg or as a transport platform for a maximum of 5 people and materials up to 500 kg, the GEDA 500 Z/ZP SL is a two-in-one-device.
The transport platform is a practical transportation system for both people and materials up to a lifting height of 100 m and is a strong partner for heavy loads and efficient work methods.
However the greatest benefit of the GEDA 500 Z/ZP SL platform is its covered roof. With a length of 3.2 metres it is ideally suited for the transport of bulky materials such as plaster boards for interior construction work. Optimum corrosion protection is ensured through full galvanisation.
The GEDA 500 Z/ZP SL transport platform has been designed in accordance with the latest transport platform standard. In Sweden it is standard practice to fasten construction hoists by means of a scaffold tower, therefore the GEDA 500 Z/ZP SL was anchored directly to the 15 metre scaffold tower.

The transport platform is supported by two proven GEDA Multilift P12 lifts.

GEDA Multilift P12: Proven know-how

The GEDA Multilift P12 safely transports 1500 kg and/or 12 people with a hoisting speed of 24/40 m/min upwards and downwards. The different storeys of the apartment building can all be easily reached with the two lifts. The assembly height in Lomma is 15 metres but the lift can generally be built up to a lifting height of 150 metres.
Cramped space conditions on construction sites are no problem here since the flat cable bin is already integrated into the enclosure. This saves space and ensures the best possible logistics during construction. This is a huge benefit on this construction site in Malmö because the scaffold tower alone takes up a lot of valuable space.
The installation and dismantling of the Multilift P12 is fast and above all safe. The full base unit which is composed of a car, enclosure, flat cable bin and drive is delivered as one unit with perfect dimensions for container loading and for HGV transportation. The device can then be erected immediately on-site without any cabin "components" having to be assembled. Through the integrated trapdoor (in the roof) and the mast protection shield inside the lift, the device can be easily assembled and disassembled from the platform. The landing level pre-selection control makes the journey in the GEDA Multilift P12 even more convenient with the LED display diagnostic system removing the need for expensive and often time consuming trouble-shooting.
For safety reasons the 2.5 metre high enclosure is both electrically and mechanically locked which means that the enclosure door can only be opened when the device is located in the ground station.
An additional safety feature for the safe transfer from the car to the individual landings is provided by the hot dip galvanised GEDA landing level safety gates in the Standard Basic design.

Applause for GEDA

The apartments in Lomma will be ready for occupation in autumn 2013. Once again a residential building project in Sweden has been successfully completed with the help of Bavarian lifts. The "encore" is already underway as ALLBYGG AB has already requested a further GEDA Multilift P12 and an additional GEDA 500 Z/ZP transport platform.
