Investors in Ukraine are counting on German products

The most modern building complex in the Ukrainian capital Kiev up to now has been successfully completed. Several Ukrainian private investors have organised the construction of the 126m high office building complex with shopping mall. Time was limited and the budget was not to be exceeded. Time is money and so the decision was made to invest in the reliable height access technology of German manufacturer GEDA.

Two GEDA transport platforms 1500 Z/ZP were used from the start, equipped with symmetrical platforms (type BS 1.45 x 3.3 x 1.1/ 1.8m). These allow for safe and efficient transport of up to 2 tons of materials and people. In order to comply with national regulations, a roof was added to both platforms. With the help of the first transport platform, you can reach the roof of the shopping mall in a height of 30m. From there you can use the second transport platform to go up for about another 100m.
Parus, Kiev AB 650 II 032007 Thanks to its modular design, GEDA transport platforms can easily be handled and unite two machines in one: a material hoist and a transport platform for people and loads. In contrast to ordinary material hoists, where the transport of people is strictly prohibited, up to 7 people can also be transported on the GEDA 1500 Z/ZP, as soon as it has been switched to the operating mode ”transport platform“. Used as “transport platform” the unit can transport 7 people and up to 1500kg; used as a material hoist even 2000kg. For the transport of people control is carried out from the platform in dead-man’s control mode. Using the unit as a mere building hoist, you can control it from the ground or the levels. In addition to the twin-mast transport platform 1500 Z/ZP with its 12 different variants, you can also find the single-mast platform in the GEDA product range. It is authorized for the transport of 5 people and loads up to 500kg.

For both the 500 Z/ZP and the 1500 Z/ZP, the 1.5m steel mast elements can be easily assembled due to the modular construction that has already been mentioned. The steel mast can be used in combination with all GEDA gear rack hoists and all GEDA transport platforms for people and loads from 500kg to 2000kg useful load. This means lower costs, a smaller stock and less transport volume.

For the second construction phase a metal post-beam façade was installed to the building. Again, priority was given to quick and reliable assembly, and so a total of 12 GEDA rope-suspended working platforms were ordered via RAMIRENT LTD. UKRAINE, the well know rental company, belonging to the Scandinavian RAMIRENT holding company. Now the entire façade could be worked on at the same time. The 12 GEDA rope-suspended AB 650 working platforms have a length of up to 16m. For this project, the standard variant with C-bracket was used.
The platform length is variably adjustable between 1 and 16m. The maximum useful load is approximately 1 ton, depending on the variant that is used. This means that not only the assembly personnel but also the required materials can be transported. You can work economically on facades and walls, regardless of the height of the building. The platform can be adjusted to the centimetre, which grants ergonomic posture at any time you are working.

Furthermore, the handy platform segments are very lightweight (only 21kg/m). The hot-dip galvanized outriggers on the roof can be easily installed and removed thanks to their push-fit fittings. One person can easily carry the components. The outrigger’s standard front projection of 2m (up to 2.8m for special versions) also allows for working on the façade in front of balconies. Of course, we are also able to offer special custom-made suspensions.
