Sporty application for the GEDA Multilift
A GEDA Multilift P18 is being used in the construction of the new football stadium at Katy High School in the State of Texas, USA.
The entire sports facilities at the high school will in future include, amongst other things, a brand new 12,000-seat stadium, a large screen, a two-storey press box, sanitation facilities, a multipurpose hall and parking spaces. The previous “Jack Rhodes Memorial Stadium” is located directly next to the complex and will still be used after the completion of the new facilities.
In order to guarantee the quick and safe transport of people and materials along the scaffolding for the main stand of the new stadium, GEDA's partner, the American scaffolding company BETCO Scaffold, decided to utilise a personnel and materials hoist from the Bavarian manufacturer GEDA-Dechentreiter GmbH & Co. KG. As a closed car was required for transporting people, the GEDA Multilift P18 lift from the proven GEDA Multilift range was particularly suitable for handling the challenges faced at the new stadium in Katy.
GEDA Multilift – The all-rounder
Unique benefits distinguish the GEDA Multilift range which comprises GEDA Multilift P6, GEDA Multilift P12, GEDA Multilift P18 and GEDA Multilift P22. For example, the full pre-installed base unit which is composed of a car, enclosure, flat cable bin and drive is delivered as one unit with perfect dimensions for container loading and for HGV transportation. Long assembly times are now a thing of the past, as work to assemble the device can start on-site immediately without any cabin components having to be assembled in advance. The Multilift is ideally suited for use in restricted spaces on a construction site, because in comparison to larger personnel and material hoists, the entire lift only requires a few square metres of base area. Therefore, no additional foundations that often have to be concreted are required. The GEDA Multilift P18 with its load capacity of 2,000 kg or 20 people, lifting height of 100 metres and hoisting speed of up to 32 m/min ensures safe and quick transport along the 26 meter high scaffolding.
Above all, the advantages offered by the mast system on the GEDA Multilift P18 have been demonstrated during the construction of the stadium in the American city of Katy. The lift travels on two masts, which means that the scaffolding is only exposed to low anchoring forces.
The benefit offered by the GEDA Unimast system should also not be overlooked: The proven mast system can be deployed in all situations using Multilifts P6 and P18. It thus keeps investment costs to a minimum and ensures low space and storage requirements, especially for rental equipment operators.

Kick-off in autumn 2017
The new stadium is scheduled to open in autumn 2017. Before the first football games can be played at the brand new high school stadium in Katy, there is still, however, a lot of work still to be completed. Following a three month break in construction, it was possible to complete the work on the main stand on schedule, not least thanks to the use of the GEDA Multilift P18.
