The GEDA SBL 2000 makes its first appearance

The new personnel and materials hoist is used for the first time at the Samriddhi housing complex in Mumbai

New concepts for new markets is the banner under which the Bavarian construction and industrial hoist manufacturer GEDA-Dechentreiter Gmbh & Co. KG presented a new personnel and material hoist, especially for markets outside Europe at bauma 2016 – the new GEDA SBL 2000. A few months have passed since its launch, but the “new” hoist is now being used for the first time on a construction site in faraway India.

A housing complex is currently being constructed in Mumbai’s Bhayandar East district and will incorporate top-quality apartments in future. A total of four matching, interconnected skyscrapers, each with 20 storeys and a three-storey car park, will be built on an area covering approximately 15 hectares. Spacious gardens on the roofs of the apartment blocks, a swimming pool, a fitness studio, children’s play areas and an amphitheatre are just some of the facilities that residents can look forward to once construction work is complete. Families with children will feel particularly at home in this first-class residential area.

Construction work is well under way and the GEDA SBL 2000 is offering a reliable transport service for one of the four skyscrapers. Mumbai-based rental company ISPAT Infrastructure has been working with GEDA for many years and has hired the GEDA SBL 2000 to the on-site construction company, Larsen & Toubro.

Successful premiere for the new GEDA SBL 2000

Always with an ear for the market, GEDA has been responding to customer needs for more than eight decades and often develops new concepts for individual height access solutions in close collaboration with partners locally.

The latest result of this active marketing is a hoist for personnel and materials that is perfectly tailored in terms of equipment and price to the needs of markets outside Europe and in the development of which GEDA has poured its entire expertise gathered over many decades, the GEDA SBL 2000.

Special solutions, aligned exactly to individual building requirements, are not required in most cases in markets outside Europe. In contrast with other, variably adjustable hoist solutions from GEDA, the new GEDA SBL 2000 is therefore only available in a fixed platform size of 3.20 x 1.45 x 2.10 metres, a standard load capacity of 2000 kg and 23 people, as well as a hoist speed of 55 m/min and a discharge head of 250 m.
“We also want to offer our customers outside Europe height access solutions that are specially tailored to their needs. We have achieved that with the GEDA SBL 2000,” says Managing Director Johann Sailer.

And of course, the GEDA SBL 2000 in no way lags behind other hoist solutions from the extensive GEDA range in terms of quality and safety.
The title “Made in Germany” also stands for quality outside Europe. According to Sailer, it is important to stress in this context that with the GEDA SBL 2000 a product optimally tailored to meet the needs of target markets outside European has been developed and manufactured entirely in Germany.
In future, the GEDA SBL 2000 will be available both as a single and a twin cabin.

Well-known companies are involved in the residential project

The Samriddhi housing complex is the first project in Mira Bhayandar to be managed by India’s largest construction and engineering company, Larsen & Toubro. The four apartment blocks were planned by A. G. Superstructures Pvt. Ltd, a company within the Ashish Group – Mumbai’s leading planning office that has over thirty years’ experience and has successfully completed numerous construction projects.

The construction work at the Samriddhi complex is due to be completed in December 2017. The building is already setting new standards since the project has already been designated a “Gold Certified Green Building” by the Indian Green Building Council.
